Over the last few months, we have recruited a team of amazing volunteers that have been helping with all sorts behind the scenes. We are so lucky to have them as part of our team!
We would like to introduce you to Lizzie, Dani, Anna, Katie and Natasha.
Lizzie was one of our first Liberate dancers when classes first started in September 2019, she is really passionate about disability advocacy. She has supported Liberate Dance since day one helping out at our youth classes and recently has been helping out with some of the admin work.
“I'm a dancer for Liberate Dance which has completely changed my life. I’ve met some great people I’m honoured to have in my life and call friends. Liberate Dance has given me such a confidence boost and opened my eyes to so many new opportunities as a wheelchair user.”
Dani joined our Liberate Family during lockdown although it feels like she's always been a part of the family.
Dani found that the classes helped her fitness, mental health, and feeling of belonging. Dani wanted to be more involved and offered her time as a volunteer to help with some admin and with growing Liberate Dance.
“It has given me so much that I wanted to give back. What better way to do that than become a volunteer? It’s early days, but I am really excited to become a part of Liberate’s future.”
You will soon be seeing a lot more of Dani as she's going to be doing interview's with some Liberate students over on the Liberate's Instagram page. Make sure you're following the account and keep your eyes peeled. Learn more about Dani here...
Anna has just joined our volunteer team but has known Amanda for a few years as they danced together at Innov8 Dance Company for two years. Anna is a talented lady, not only is she a brilliant dancer but she also has a MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths University of London.
We were (re) introduced to Katie through the Community PR Initiative a project that was set up during lockdown pairing PR professionals on furlough with charities in need of support.
However, we quickly found out is that Katie had met both Amanda and Vickie before as they had attended the same secondary school. What are the chances?! She was even taught dance by Amanda at school.
Katie has been a huge help with our communications. Despite going back to work Katie has decided to continue to provide us with voluntary support and we are very grateful. Read her bio here...
Natasha was also paired with our charity through the Community PR Initiative and we appreciate so much all the support she has provided over the last few months.
Natasha is a Chartered PR Practitioner and is passionate about inclusion so was really interested in everything Move Momentum is about. Natasha created our very first Newsletter that went out in July. If you didn't receive this make sure to subscribe here. Natasha has also kindly agreed to continue to stay on board as a volunteer.
