Half-way through March and we're also half-way through Move Momentum March, our annual fundraiser!
All the activities are going well - and we're on our way to our £2,000 target with £1,440 donated to date. So thank you to all who have supported us so far.
We do have quite a way to go to make that £2,000, though, and so here's a bit of an update to let you know how things are going:
Academies Winnall did their 10k Scavenger Hunt on Saturday 11 March.
Teacher Kerry and five students (plus dog) explored Winchester, solving clues on a walk that took them from King Alfred's Statue to the top of St Catherine's Hill, to the Cathedral.
Mostly the weather was fine... but a sudden appearance of drizzle resulted in a very welcome chip-stop.
Fundraising Officer Keeleigh is 20 percent through her virtual Great Barrier Reef walk challenge. Monday 13 March saw her walk up Magdalen Hill and onto the South Downs Way.
Liberate will be starting their marathon challenge next week. Liberate student and our Admin and Marketing Officer Lizzie, for example, has pledged to do a mile a day, with a mixture of wheelchair push and hand cycling.
And don't forget, the GEMS oboe recital is next week - Tuesday 21 March, 10am, at Unit 12, Winnall Valley Road, and when GEMS class participant and oboe performer, John Salter, will be treating us to a selection of songs. Everyone's welcome - just come along in the morning.
CEO and teacher Amanda
has started her plank challenge and has broken the three-minute mark!
