Reflecting on #MOVEMOMENTUMMARCH!

We can’t believe it’s been just over a month since we finished #MoveMomentumMarch so we thought now would be the perfect time to look back and reflect.

Before the campaign started we were at risk of our Gems and Liberate Dance classes stopping. So we decided we would launch a crowdfunding campaign and we were hoping to raise £6000 in order to keep these classes running up until July 2021.

Thanks to you, we made it and more!

We are thrilled to announce we raised a fantastic total amount of £9,601 ( + est. £450.75 GiftAid). This experience has been incredible and we thank every person who supported, donated, and spread the word, we are overwhelmed by how much support we received from you all.

With the incredible amount of donations, not only have we been able to secure our classes this year, but we have also raised enough to deliver a brand new GEMS and Liberate class, which will be launching soon! We are thrilled to be able to extend our timetable and grow our fantastic community and support network.

Let’s have a look back at some of the highlights of #MoveMomentumMarch:

  1. The Bake Off

As lots of people got into baking during the lockdown, we thought this would be a great activity for people to get involved in and we weren't disappointed. We had some incredible entries plus it was an excuse to eat cake. 😋 Check out all the yummy cakes that were entered and the winning entry from Tom Bell. (top centre in picture)

2. The Raffle

Who doesn’t love a good raffle? We had SO many incredible prizes thanks to some awesome local businesses -

And congratulations to all of the lucky prize winners!

3. Student stories

Our amazing students are why we do what we do. So some of them helped us out by creating a short video to share why their class is so important to them. If you missed any check them all out here.

4. Louise’s rap

For those of you who don’t know Louise is the founder of Move Momentum and she also happens to have some pretty sweet rap skills. 👌

5. Amanda getting pied

It’s always funny to see someone get pied in the face and we thought it would be fun for all our students to see one of our teachers get pied. We asked you to vote for who you wanted to see get pied, and the winner with a significant majority was our project manager and teacher, Amanda. If you haven’t seen this video yet you definitely should. 😆

We would like to say a special thank you to our match funders; Sport England, Sovereign Housing and Winchester City Council for providing funding for our campaign. We would also like to thank our new business sponsors Right at Home Mid-Hampshire, The Management and Leadership Academy and JC Scooters & Sweets. Information on all of our sponsors can be found under the Supporters page on our website, so be sure to check it out!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and donated during #MOVEMOMENTUMMARCH. We could not have done it without you!
