Do you have a passion for dance and want to support the Winchester community?

Updated: Oct 3, 2023

If so - you could be just the person we’re looking for!

We have a vacancy for a volunteer Teaching Assistant to help at our Thursday morning GEMS dance class at Weeke, Winchester.

GEMS is our friendly and relaxed dance class for over 65s, and includes a mixture of seated and standing movement with a focus on enabling participants to go at their own pace while having fun!

The class runs from 10-11am at St Barnabas Church in Weeke during term-time, and if you’re interested, you’ll need to be able to commit to 1.75 hours (9.45-11.30am) on the Thursday morning each week.

In addition to assisting participants during the class, with learning movements and through demonstrating variations, the assistant’s role includes helping to set up and close down the venue, taking photos and videos from time to time - and overall in helping to create an enjoyable and social environment for our GEMS.

You can find more information about our GEMS classes on the GEMS page, more detail about volunteering with Move Momentum on the Our Volunteers and Work for Us pages, and full details and how to apply for the GEMS Teaching Assistant role requirements.

We’re looking for someone who can commit to the role long-term, but for at least a year, and this is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and develop skills, while helping and supporting the local community.

If you think this might be for you - we’re looking forward to hearing from you!
