Frequently Asked Questions

When do the classes run?

Classes run during school term time.  Please see our Dates & Timetable page for more details.

Do I have to come every week?

No, although we recommend if you want to perform with us that you turn up to sessions regularly. We do allow for drop-ins which cost £1.50 per session,  however, we will still need you to complete a registration form.

 

How do I find the venues?

Stanmore Academy is held at St Luke’s Church at the end of Mildmay Street, SO22 4BX. The session is run in the community hall behind the main church. There are some steps that lead down the left-hand side of the building that will lead to the entrance.

 

Winnall Academy is held in the Sports Hall and Winnall Primary School on Garbett Road, SO23 0NY. Enter through the reception and turn right, if the door is locked press the buzzer and wait for someone to let you in.

 

Parking information

There is parking available at both our Stanmore and Winnall Academy venues.

 

What should be worn?

Appropriate clothing for exercise and activity-appropriate footwear e.g. trainers. Jewellery should not be worn during classes. 

 

What do I need to bring with me?

A water bottle.

 

I am a total beginner - will your classes be suitable for me?

Absolutely, our classes are mixed ability but the focus is on having fun and being part of a supportive community. Our teachers will ensure that all students' ability levels are catered to.

 

Do you cater for students with additional needs?

Yes, we are able to cater to young people with additional needs including those who are autistic, neurodiverse or have issues with their mental health, provided they don’t need 1-2-1 support.
