As a charity, Move Momentum is governed by a Board of Trustees, with our trustees sharing responsibility for deciding how Move Momentum is managed and run.
Trustees therefore have the opportunity to make a real impact - to help change people’s lives for the better, and make a positive difference to the local community.
Without our trustees, we couldn’t function as a charity, and continue to deliver the dance classes and workshops that make such a difference to so many people, whether they’re benefitting from the physical activity of dancing or the improved social and mental well-being that comes from coming together and enjoying the joy of dance.
At Move Momentum, we have a fabulous team of trustees, bringing an amazing wealth of talent, experience and skills to the charity, and we’re currently looking to broaden the team.
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact, to help make dance accessible to everyone in the community?
There are statutory requirements for the role, and you can find full details in our Trustee Role description, but this is a chance to bring your expertise to contribute actively to the board, helping to give strategic direction, defining goals, and setting targets.
We have quarterly board meetings, and an annual meeting - and you might also like to get involved on the ground, with helping at events perhaps. We also find that trustees often learn new skills during their time on the board.
We’re looking, too, to fill the trustee role of Treasurer.
This role involves maintaining an overview of our financial affairs, and helping our trustees to carry out their financial responsibilities - helping to ensure our financial viability as a charity, and that proper records and procedures are maintained. You can find full details in our Treasure Role description.
Alana Long has been involved with Move Momentum since the charity launched. Our Chair of Trustees, Alana says, "I am super passionate about providing high quality dance experiences for the community."
