Move Momentum at Winchester Hat Fair 1 July 2023

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

Move Momentum’s Liberate Dance will be showcasing their skills in some dance routines at this year’s Winchester Hat Fair on Saturday 1 July!

Founded in 1974 by Jonathan Kay, the two-day Hat Fair is an amazing event, created to spotlight the wonderful people of Winchester, and the city’s heritage and public spaces, and attracts artists from across the country - with performances and displays from a mixture of musicians, actors, acrobats, poets and of course dancers.

And so we’re delighted that some of our fantastic Liberate dancers will be performing!

Having first taken part in 2020, out in a field due to Covid restrictions, Liberate Dance will be right in the hustle and bustle of the High Street, close to The Ivy restaurant, Buttercross and Nat West - and at primetime lunchtime, 1-1.30pm.

Lizzie Sawyer, our own Admin and Marketing Officer and Liberate dancer, will be performing, and says, “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to perform at the Winchester Hat Fair again this year. We love the chance to be able to show the freedom a wheelchair can bring through dance!”

So, if you’re at the Hat Fair, do pop along to watch the Liberate Dance group - they’ll be in the High Street, 1-1.30pm, on Saturday 1 July!
