1 week on from our Christmas Fair and it was a great success! From Santa’s Grotto, to awesome performances and stalls with lots of beautiful gifts, we managed to raise some money for our charity so we can continue to deliver dance classes to our beneficiaries and keep to our promise ‘We believe that dance is for everyone. We strive to make this a reality.’
Santa’s grotto was a sell out success! 40 children came to see Mr Claus and they all left with smiles on their faces and a present from the man himself. Everyone who visited the grotto had lots of fun and it helped to get everyone into the festive spirit.
As well as Santa’s grotto, we also had 10 unique and wonderful vendors who made a beautiful Christmas market! From beautiful art, handmade jewellery and bespoke Christmas gifts to children's adventure maps and sweets; there was something for everyone to enjoy.
We even had our own stall. We had a hugely popular tombola with gifts for children and adults, an awesome game of ‘balance the coin on the lemon’ which many people were determined to attempt plus, we were selling our merchandise including brand new Liberate hooded jumpers and sweatshirts. Our project coordinator, Kerry Chamberlain had this to say about the event:
“We were thrilled to be able to bring some festive cheer to everyone this Christmas. It was more important than ever to lift spirits and host a fun, safe event for everyone to enjoy!” - Kerry Chamberlain
In addition to all of this fantastic stuff, we were also able to showcase some amazing performances that the audience loved! These wonderful performances included 3 incredible dances from our wheelchair dance group, Liberate Dance and an extremely moving performance from our Gems (over 65s) group which included a poem that was written by one of our Gems students, a Christmas dance from our Academies and a guest performance from Blue Apple Theatre's street dance group.
The day went off without a hitch! We would like to thank all of our amazing volunteers for helping to make it a success, our amazing students for their beautiful performances and of course, all of the people that came to support us and make it a magical Christmas Fair!
