Thank you to Newbury Building Society

Updated: Oct 3, 2023

Newbury Building Society very kindly sponsored Move Momentum’s Summer Show this year, and we were very pleased to welcome them recently to Unit 12 to see one of our studio classes for themselves - our Tuesday GEMS class for over 65s.

This was a great opportunity for the class to reprise one of the show routines - Seasonal Treasures, by former GEMS dancer, Sue Ellis and who very sadly died earlier in the year.

Other routines certainly had the Society visitors’ feet tapping and hands clapping while the class danced to a mix of songs, including Return To Sender, Over the Rainbow, and Staying Alive.

“It was a pleasure to visit Move Momentum’s over 65s class in Winchester,” says Mollie Maclean, Newbury Building Society Digital Marketing Assistant, “and we are delighted that we were able to help and support towards their annual show.

“It was heart-warming to see all the dancers share a morning together and seeing the enjoyment on their faces was a lovely experience. The charity have created an inclusive community for everyone and I truly believe that they make a difference to people’s lives.”

“And we were so pleased to have the opportunity to thank Newbury Building Society in person,” adds Move Momentum CEO Amanda Watkinson. “We are so grateful to them for the funding to help us stage the Summer Show. It’s an amazing opportunity for the participants across our classes to showcase their skills - and the most fantastic fun!”

Unfortunately, we couldn’t tempt the Newbury Building Society visitors to join in with the class, but it was really good to see how much they enjoyed watching!
